BUDA MASONIC LODGE NO. 800
Serving as a cornerstone of Buda since the mid-1800s, our lodge stands as a testament to fellowship, charity, and enduring heritage.
The history of Freemasonry in Buda begins with the arrival of the Antioch Colony, a community founded by freed slaves around the 1860s, just outside of the city of Buda. This farming community was an essential part of the local area, laying deep roots and contributing significantly to the early development of the town.

As part of their community infrastructure, the leaders of the Antioch Colony formed a Masonic Lodge, which helped shape the early social and cultural fabric of Buda. The lodge’s establishment symbolized a place for fellowship, mutual support, and shared ideals among the members, setting a foundation for the generations to follow.
The lodge’s history is preserved in the stories of the people who have been members. The Buda Masonic Lodge serves as a keeper of historical documents, photographs, and stories that chronicle the town’s growth and the individuals who have helped shape its trajectory.
Artifacts, documents, and historical photographs meticulously preserved within the lodge archives.
As Buda continues to grow and modernize, Lodge No. 800 remains a vibrant pillar of the community. We honor the traditions of Freemasonry through regular meetings, social events, and ongoing charitable activities. Our commitment to fellowship and service remains as central to our mission today as it was over a century ago.
In more recent years, our dedication to the community was highlighted when long-time member Jim Hollis was honored as Buda's first "Local Legend." His unwavering contributions to the town and dedication to Freemasonry stand as a testament to the positive impact our lodge continues to make on the region.
