Freemasonry is the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organization. It brings together men of good character who seek to become better – as husbands, fathers, friends, and citizens – through shared values, meaningful ritual, and service to others.
At Buda Masonic Lodge #800 AF&AM, we gather regularly in Buda, Texas to strengthen our bonds of brotherhood, practice the lessons of the Craft, and serve our local community with humility and integrity.
Brotherly Love - caring for one another and our neighbors.
Relief - supporting those in need through charity and action.
Truth - living with integrity and honesty in all we do.
Freemasonry uses symbols - like the square and compasses - to teach lessons about living a balanced, upright life in today’s world.
Every Lodge is unique, but all share a commitment to making good men better through brotherhood, learning, and service.
We are a diverse group of men from Buda and the surrounding area – professionals, tradesmen, veterans, young fathers, and retirees – united by a desire to live by high moral standards and give back to our community.
From local charity efforts to supporting youth and civic causes, Buda Lodge is committed to being a quiet but steady force for good in our town.
Freemasonry welcomes men of every background who believe in a Supreme Being, regardless of specific denomination or tradition.
Our Lodge is a welcoming, family-friendly environment where lifelong friendships are formed and men encourage one another to live well.
Freemasonry does not recruit. Instead, interested men reach out and ask about membership. From there, the process is simple and guided by Brothers who want you to feel comfortable every step of the way.
Submit the interest form below or speak with a Brother you already know. We’ll invite you to visit Buda Lodge, meet members, and ask any questions you may have.
If you decide Masonry is right for you, you’ll be guided through a formal application (called a petition) and meet with a small committee of Brothers.
Once elected to membership, you’ll receive the three symbolic degrees of Freemasonry and continue learning alongside your new Brothers.

Many good men are curious about Freemasonry but aren’t sure how it really works. These answers reflect how things are done at Buda Lodge and within Texas Masonry generally.
In Texas, a man petitioning a Lodge should believe in a Supreme Being, be of good moral character, be at least 18 years old, and be able to support himself and his family. You do not have to be invited - it begins when you express your interest.
No. Freemasonry is not a religion and does not replace your personal faith. It requires that a man believe in a Supreme Being, but it does not tell him how to worship or which denomination to choose. Men of many different faith traditions sit together in Lodge.
Each Lodge sets its own fees and dues. There is a one-time fee for the degrees, and modest yearly dues to support the Lodge’s work. When you speak with a Brother from Buda Lodge, he can share current fees and options with you.
Yes. In fact, we encourage you to visit the Lodge more than once, get to know the members, and bring your questions. Our goal is for you and your family to feel confident and at ease with your decision.
Freemasonry has private signs and traditional modes of recognition, but our values, meeting locations, and community work are very public. You’re welcome to ask us anything - and we’ll answer what we are permitted to share.
