COMPETITION GUIDELINES
Rules of the Road
We’re keeping it simple, safe, and firmly focused on fun. Review these guidelines with your crew before receiving your official clue packet.
REQUIRED TEAM FORMAT
4-5 participants + 1 Adult Chaperone
Your team must remain together at all times. The adult chaperone must accompany the team for the entire duration of the scavenger hunt.
Official Clue Rules
- All clue locations are strictly within walking range of Downtown Buda.
- No edited, filtered, or AI-generated photos will be accepted.
- The entire team (including chaperone) must be visible in every selfie.
- Respect private property and adhere to pedestrian safety rules.

How to Win
Our judges are looking for more than just a finished route. While Completion (40%) and Accuracy (25%) are essential, we weigh Creativity (20%) and Team Spirit (10%) heavily. Bring your best attitude, coordinate team outfits, and make every selfie memorable. Just remember—no photo editing or AI allowed!
1st Place
$300 cash or gift card bundle, or a premium downtown Buda family prize basket.
2nd & 3rd Place
$150 and $75-$100 local business gift bundles to reward our fantastic runners-up.
Spirit Awards
Sponsor-donated prizes exclusively for Best Team Spirit, Best Photo, and Youth/Family Choice.

Who can participate?
Families, students, youth groups, and community teams are all welcome to join the fun!
Do we need an adult chaperone?
Yes. Every team must have at least one adult (18+) accompanying them at all times for safety and supervision.
Can we drive between clues?
No, driving is not allowed. All clue locations are within walking range in old downtown Buda, so bring comfortable walking shoes!
Can we edit or filter our photos?
No edited, filtered, altered, or AI-generated photos will be accepted. Keep them real, authentic, and spirited!
What do the entry fees support?
Your team's entry fee and BBQ purchases go directly to support the Buda Lodge kitty, helping us host more community events.
